Will the milk thistle change the color and / or consistency of bowel movements?

May make them darker and more frequent. Some people experience slightly looser bowel movements at first.

And extra gas I'm sure?! thank you. Darker is good I presume? Means less bile in the stool? Looking from the standpoint of a gall bladder removal?

Darker means more bile in the stool (up until black, which means other things, but would not be the result of Milk Thistle). Darker means that the liver is producting more bile and that the gall bladder is excreting it, which shows that the body is detoxifying more quickly.

I had my gall bladder removed back in 1998, I always attributed the loose yellow bowel movements to bile having nowhere else to go but the intestines?....am confused about this. Soooo....this is actually attributed to a the liver not functioning at it's peak? The darker Bm's is a good sign that the milk thistle is working.
Thanks yet again,
Mari

Yes, it's a good sign. Usually bile makes the stools darker up to a point. Lighter, pale stools indicate that the bile is not flowing well (scar tissue after surgery?, etc). Healthy stools are dark brown in color.
