I have had eczema since I was a child and in the last 5 years it has really flared up.  I refuse to take any of the steroid medications that I have been presribed in the past as well as any over-the-counter antihistamine product like Benadryl.  I do not want to go back to another dermatologist as they all seem to have the same mindset and have no real solutions to help my situation.

I have taken the wholistic approach. I find that approach is alot of trial and error as well.  I have been retested for food and air-borne allergens and everything came up negative.  I have been exploring a raw food diet earlier this summer and continually try to incorporate it into my diet. But before that, I refrained from eating any dairy, meat and processed foods as much as possible.  I have noticed that during ragweed and hayfever seasons a significance difference.  However, the eczema is very stubborn.  Sometimes I get some relief, but nothing on a consistant basis with continuing improvements.

I am now midway through a 3 month cleanse (colon, liver, blood, heavy metal cleanse).  I have seen and feel an improvement, but again, the eczema is very resistant. It seems to improve, but returns. Sometimes the itch is so incredibly bad I am at my wits end.

Have people had success with calming the itching and what is the maximum allowed dosage without adversed affects?  How long can someone take your products without the body becoming immuned to it? Please provide any other helpful information.  This is my cry for help!!!

Eczema is an illness that can be prevented with simple precautions. To avoid great severity and to reduce the frequency of such conditions a patient should: lower stress level, keep the skin area moisturized at all times, to avoid foods (that can cause some kind of an outbreak), abrasive soaps or materials (wool), solvents or detergents, overheating or perspiration, abrupt alterations in humidity or temperature and environmental elements, like animal dander, molds, pollens or mites....

I have suffred eczema for over 15 years and tried almost everything except the methods you explained so i may have to try that. Currently im using elocon cream and it seems to work pretty well, but i do often get harsh flareups would i would like to fix.

I really feel for you dude, I've had bad eczema since i can remember, thats 16 years btw. As for a cure I havent found any but to stop the itching heres my advice - a REALLY hot shower. alot of OTC creams just burn away the effected tissue in an effort to heal it up but as it just comes back it doesnt matter how much you use. Seriously a good long hot shower , its a little harsh but i garentee that the relief is amazing. really helps you sleep. *laughs* sometimes I come out and all my legs are bright red from it but to stop itching SHORT TERM its really effective. wont cure anything mind, but if your prone to scratching at night i recomed it cause lack of sleep can make it flare. so its kinda a vicious circle. iching-scratch-no sleep-more iching-scratching-no sleep-etc.etc. So yeah basicly to stop iching use hot water, you deffinatly wont have any side effects to it cause its all natual and not like drugs or anything and its free. hope my advice helps.

Hi eterry,
I just sent you an email.  Hopefully I can point you in some solid healing directions.  Our Milk Thistle is awesome, but it will not "cure" full on eczema.  We suggest a holistic approach.  This includes Diet, Cleansing, and Herbal Therapies.

My wife had eczema since she was a child.  It covered 90% of her body for roughly five years, from 1998 - 2003.  At times she slept an hour a night, because the itching was so severe, skin cracking on her torso and limbs.  The hot shower worked for her, but then it would always get worse when she got out.  She would have to lube up her entire body with salve before bed, and pray for sleep.  She has been clear now since 2003, with a focus on diet, and lifestyle.

Again, I have many ideas for you, but best to talk and see where you are at now before I start overwhelming you with options.  Thank you for posting out your cry for help, and I'm sorry I didn't see it in the forum until now.  I feel horrible about that.  Hopefully you've found some solutions since last you posted.
